The Calm After the Storm

It was a flurry of activity this weekend...the movies, cupcake making and decorating, dinosaur excursion, putting together 24 goody bags, present opening and shrieks of laughter and excitement...  I have been in constant 'go, go, go!' mode since Thursday.

Whew!

I'm tired.

I'm looking forward to today being the calm after the storm.

Cleaning up the flurry of activity, getting things organized, cleaning the house, doing the laundry that was left unattended this weekend...

Oh, wait.

That doesn't sound so calm.

But it won't be at the excessive speed of motion the other things were, so that in itself is more of a calming factor.

Princess Nagger said she had the best Birthday of her whole life!   Her favorite part was going to the Dinosaur Museum yesterday - she had so much fun playing with Martha and Andrea's kids.  It was great fun to meet some cool bloggy friends in real life.

Thanks so much Martha and Andrea - and your awesome kids - for helping make Princess Nagger's birthday extra special - it made my day extra special too!  Now I don't have to be jealous of other bloggers who have a chance to meet some of their favorite bloggers in person, because I got to do just that!

Thank you to everyone who wished Princess Nagger a Happy Birthday yesterday - she read all the comments and was tickled pink!  Wait - tickled purple, since that's her favorite color.  You all helped make her day extra special, too!

More to come when the calm has increased in stature...

Happy Birthday, Princess Nagger!

Seven years ago this very day,
I was blessed in no small way.
A little bundle to be sure
The love I have is oh so pure.

First giggles and coos and beautiful smiles
Then walking and talking and running for miles.
Each year I've watched you change and grow,
I wish for me the time would slow.

Your dinosaur games and silly dances
Are much too fun for just quick glances.
Your imagination is fun to see
Born from playful curiosity.

Your pondering looks and little pout;
A furrowed brow when you shout...
Just add more depth to who you are
My Drama Queen, my Little Star.

I love you more than words could say
And love to watch you learn and play.
Your big blue eyes and silly grin
Just melt my heart from deep within.

On this day you turn seven,
Your arrival was straight from heaven.
Happy Birthday, my Sweet Girl
You are quite the precious pearl.

Birthdays come and go too fast...
Today you're going to have a blast.
As you grow into a lady,
You will always be my baby.

Love You to the Moon and Stars and Back Again!
Mama
